Richard can perform many tasks, here are the three major ways in which Richard could
assist you. Richard will work at anything interesting, challenging,
demanding and complex.
ATM Expert
Richard has played a major role in the development of ATM for over 15 years,
participating in and managing research. He has given technical papers,
keynote speeches, developed switches, developed access systems and led company
technical strategy. He has also co-ordinated
and driven standards at the ATM Forum, MSF, DSL, IETF, ITU, T1S1 and many other
bodies. He was recently the ATM forum's Vice President and Web Czar. Many
of Richards 30+ patents relate to ATM.
General Telecoms
Richard has an extremely wide knowledge of telecoms from numbering, ATM and
MPLS to network structure, costing and services. He has been consulted by
national operators on network development, service trends, and has been part
of and led many strategic studies including Video on Demand, Access Systems,
Multi-terabit switching/routing and Optic switching. Richard was a consultant
from within Marconi for over 10 years, and has often been called in to brainstorm on
almost any topic.
Web Analyst
Richard has used the Internet for email, ftp and the web for over 15 years,
has written email clients, developed many websites from small to large, with
e-commerce and full cgi. Richard has liased between site owners and web
developers, ensuring sites work smoothly, adhere to usability guides and are
appropriate for the owners. He believes in sites that can be used by all,
that are easy to navigate, fast and avoid flashy (buggy) features.
Problem Solving Courses
Richard has built upon his wide experience of real problem solving, to run short
problem solving courses, covering problem identification, finding solutions,
selecting solutions and the techniques used from brianstorming to
scoreboarding.
